چکیده

This paper deals with Student t-processes as studied in (Cufaro Petroni 2007). We prove and extend some conjectures expressed by Cufaro Petroni about the asymptotical behavior of a Student t-process and the expansion of its density. First, the explicit asymptotic behavior of any real positive convolution power of a Student t-density with any real positive degrees of freedom is given in the multivariate case; then the integer convolution power of a Student t-distribution with odd degrees of freedom is shown to be a convex combination of Student t-densities with odd degrees of freedom. At last, we show that this result does not extend to the case of non-integer convolution powers. On some results of Cufaro Petroni about Student t-processes 2

Lévy–Student processes for a stochastic model of beam halos

We describe the transverse beam distribution in particle accelerators within the controlled, stochastic dynamical scheme of the stochastic mechanics which produces time reversal invariant diffusion processes. In this paper we analyze the consequences of introducing the generalized Student laws, namely non-Gaussian, Lévy infinitely divisible (but not stable) distributions. We will analyze this i...

Selfdecomposability and selfsimilarity: a concise primer

We summarize the relations among three classes of laws: infinitely divisible, selfdecomposable and stable. First we look at them as the solutions of the Central Limit Problem; then their role is scrutinized in relation to the Lévy and the additive processes with an emphasis on stationarity and selfsimilarity. Finally we analyze the Ornstein–Uhlenbeck processes driven by Lévy noises and their se...

Lévy-Student distributions for halos in accelerator beams.

We describe the transverse beam distribution in particle accelerators within the controlled, stochastic dynamical scheme of stochastic mechanics (SM) which produces time reversal invariant diffusion processes. This leads to a linearized theory summarized in a Schrödinger-like (SL) equation. The space charge effects have been introduced in recent papers by coupling this S-L equation with the Max...

Multidimensional quasi-Monte Carlo Malliavin Greeks

The aim of this paper is extensively investigate the performance of the estimators for the Greeks of multidimensional complex path-dependent options obtained by the aid of Malliavin Calculus. The study analyses both the computation effort and the variance reduction in the Quasi-Monte Carlo simulation framework. For this purpose, we adopt the approach employed by Montero and Kohatsu-Higa to the ...
